So you've realised Disney lied to us and in-fact, love is really difficult and fucking painful. Our weekend break to the English countryside has been carefully designed to deliver a satisfying relief from the pain of a breakup. Hosted by a specialist relationship psychologist, our trip is the perfect antidote to heart-break. We will assist you with the healing required to reboot your confidence and serenity whilst learning how to deconstruct and take control of your emotions. We will examine our behaviour whilst in a relationship: harmful repetitive patterns, how to communicate, teach and learn, and how to allow others to get close to us, despite our fears. Heal, refresh and re-gain control of your life whilst equipping yourself with skills to develop healthy and peaceful relationships.
Just 30 minutes north of London, the property is set in 55 acres of grounds and has 140 bedrooms, an interactive bakery, three bars and two restaurants run by Robin Gill – the casual Valerie’s and the farm-to-table The Zebra Riding Club.
There’s also a wellness space with a gym, fitness studios (for yoga, HIIT and spin classes), a 25m lido, and pottery, art, music and screening rooms. The place has been designed to help you disconnect from that city life – that means no TVs or desks in the rooms, and activities like beekeeping and foraging with farmer Tom. There will be co-working space on site if you absolutely have to get back on the emails though.

Choosing a life-partner can be one of the trickiest decisions we will ever make. We are expected to follow our feelings, and locate people according to our intuition. And yet, our emotions cannot always be trusted; and they often lead us to problematic characters that repeat patterns of suffering. We once relied on parents and society to find partners for us, however, the process and responsibility has now been handed over to us. In many cases, our frantic pursuit leads to complications. Fortunately, there are practical ideas we can engage with to understand our needs and find long-lasting love.
What will I learn?
How to Find Love teaches us how to:
We live in a culture that talks a lot about finding love - but far less about the next part of the puzzle, making the love we have last. This workshop will provide a toolkit of skills for ensuring the health and vibrancy of a relationship over the long term.
We will learn together about Communication, Compassion, Listening, Playfulness and Diplomacy. Most of all, we will understand that it isn’t a sign of failure that we have ended up here; it’s a proof of commitment. We will learn that love is not simply an emotion to be felt, it is a skill to be learnt.

How to Make Love Last teaches us:
Picnic outside revival mansions with forest backdrops, redbrick Jacobean manors with mazes and gothic courts encrusted with gargoyles. Span centuries in St Albans' Roman amphitheatres and Norman cathedrals. You can come face to face with dragons and ghouls straight from the Harry Potter films and get close to endangered snow leopards at exciting wildlife parks. This home county hasn't forgotten its shopaholics either, with outlet malls and new towns aplenty. Top places to visit in Hertfordshire include St Albans Cathedral, the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London, Cassiobury Park and the De Havilland Aircraft Museum.
Share a room to save on budget, or stretch your legs in a larger, private room.
Catch a train from London Liverpool Street station to Cheshunt station. It’s then a 5-10 minute taxi or Uber.
Flights, transfers and additional excursions are not included unless listed above.
